La Onda announces support for Puertas Abiertas

Starting April 8, a new initiative called Somos La Onda — “We Are La Onda” — will donate a portion of ticket sales for the upcoming Latin music festival to the Napa nonprofit Puertas Abiertas.
La Onda takes place on May 31 and June 1 in Napa. This is the second year for the festival from the producers of BottleRock. Last year’s inaugural festival drew enthusiastic crowds to the Napa Expo for the two-day event.
“We are thrilled to have the support of La Onda, especially in these challenging times,” said Blanca Huijon, executive director, Puertas Abiertas. “People in our community come to Puertas Abiertas whenever they have a need because they know we can be trusted to provide factual information and that they will be assisted with care,”
Puertas Abiertas advocates for and strengthens the Latino community through multicultural programs and services, with a vision for an empowered community where people thrive through equitable access to cultural wellness, education, social services and civic engagement.
“Our focus is to proactively solve problems and follow our community’s needs for expanding literacy, increasing well-being and productivity for the Latino community because doing so means a happier, healthier, more economically vibrant community for everyone,” Huijon said.
Headlining La Onda this year are Marco Antonio Solis, Banda MS, Pepe Aguilar, Carin León and Grupo Firme, with additional performances from other Latin musical acts such as Alicia Villarreal, Oscar Maydon, spanning multiple genres, including regional Mexican and its various sub-genres, such as Latin pop.
“This is a reflection of our people, our culture, and our heritage in Napa,” said Natie Cazares of Festival La Onda. “A festival created by and for the Latino community. Because in the end, we are what gives La Onda life. We are all La Onda.”
Taking place the weekend following BottleRock Napa Valley, La Onda provides local and regional Latin cuisine and specialty beverages, and activities including a relaxing spa, dance club and silent disco.
General admission tickets begin at $218 per person; VIP tickets begin at $448, and weekend El Mirador tickets begin at $1,48, and weekend Platinum tickets begin at $3,618. All ticket prices include fees and shipping. Layaway plans for all ticket levels are available at La Onda Layaway plans begin at $50 per ticket.
