The Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has appointed Alonso Corona as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Corona previously served as the Chamber’s executive director, where he helped support Hispanic-owned and small businesses through programs, partnerships and advocacy efforts. His promotion comes as the Chamber shifts to a new governance model that separates day-to-day operations from the volunteer board of directors.

“Alonso brings many years of entrepreneurial leadership combined with long-lasting community relationships,” said Bernie A. Narvaez, board chair of the Chamber. “He has earned the trust and respect of our members and partners, and we are confident that under his leadership, the Chamber will be more effective and efficient in serving the business community.”

Under the new structure, the CEO will have greater independence to manage operations and set strategic goals, while the board focuses on governance and oversight, according to the press release. Chamber leaders say this shift will allow the organization to focus on long-term growth and sustainability rather than relying solely on volunteers for direction.

For Corona, the new role is both personal and professional.

“As I step into the role of CEO, I bring with me two decades of business experience and a lifetime of connection to this community,” Corona said.

“My vision is to continue building bridges across cultures, industries and generations so that the Latino and Hispanic community not only thrives but leads with pride, strength and unity always knowing they are welcomed, valued and supported.”

The Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has long served as a resource for local businesses, providing networking opportunities, advocacy and education aimed at fostering a thriving, inclusive economy. Corona’s appointment, Narvaez added, is intended to ensure the Chamber remains a strong voice for business owners during a time of change and growth in Napa County.

With Corona at the helm, the organization aims to deepen its role as a bridge between Hispanic businesses and local leaders, while helping business members adapt to the local evolving economic landscape.
