April 5 ‘Hands Off!’ protests planned for Napa County

The nation-wide “Hands Off! National Day of Action,” protests planned for April 5 include events in Calistoga, Yountville and Napa.

A coalition of more than150 grassroots organizations, progressive groups and nonprofits has organized the events across the country to protest the actions of the Trump administration and Elon Musk.

“Hands Off! Napa Fights Back” is from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Napa Courthouse at 825 Brown Street. Sign-making for the protest begins at 5:30 p.m. on April 3 at the Napa Valley Arts Association at 1520 Behrens St., Napa.

Upvalley, a protest in Calistoga is planned for the Calistoga Bridge on Lincoln Avenue on from noon to 1 p.m. Participants are invited to meet at the BMO parking lot on Lincoln Ave for brief messages, and then spread out along Lincoln Avenue until 1 p.m.

In Yountville, a peaceful protest is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. in Veterans Park.

Organizers have stressed that “a core principle behind Hands Off! Is a commitment to non-violent action.”
