U.S. Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) has named Cinthya Cisneros as the 2025 American Dream Award recipient for Napa County.

Thompson presents the American Dream Award during Immigrant Heritage Month to residents of California’s Fourth District who have come to the United States and made outstanding contributions to their communities. The award recognizes immigrants who have excelled professionally in entrepreneurship and innovation, in the arts and culture or in community service. “I am honored to recognize Cinthya Cisneros as this year’s Napa County American Dream Award recipient,” Thompson said. “Ms.Cisneros is the perfect example of the American Dream, giving back to our community through her restaurant, La Cheve Bakery and Brews, and supporting community service efforts by providing scholarships for undocumented, Latino, and low-income, first-generation college students.”

Cisneros was born in Michoacán, Mexico, as the oldest of three siblings and has lived in Napa since she was 4. She began working as a bartender in 2018 after teaching high school chemistry.  She became interested in home-beer brewing shortly and eventually founded her family-owned Mexican bakery, craft beer taproom, and restaurant in 2020.

In addition to founding La Cheve Bakery and Brews, Cisneros is the owner of the upcoming restaurant Con Amor Botanas y Tequila and co-founder of La Lucha Wines. She is an advisory board member of the nonprofit scholarship organization 10,000 Degrees.

“Immigrants are our neighbors and colleagues, soldiers and first responders, doctors and lawyers, farmers, entrepreneurs, teachers and so much more,” Thompson said. “Our nation would not be the powerhouse of the world without their contributions to our country’s history, culture, and economy. This is evidenced by Ms. Cisneros’ work in our community.”

In addition to Cisneros, the 2025 American Dream Award recipients for California’s Fourth District includes Edgar Ontiveros from Lake County; Riitta DeAnda, Solano County; Pemba Sherpa, Sonoma County and Andres Olmedo, Yolo County.
